What do you think about Gladaitors defense
Ive been thinking of changing from strength to tatics. I currently use battle rage with sword making me do good quick dmg, but if I use gladiators I will be a good tank and be able to get in casters faces more since I use disrupt. The problem is that theres a 20second deficet from when you use gladiators to when you can use it again. What do you all think?

PvE it's not bad, but I wouldn't use it in PvP

My favourite elite when used correctly. Combine it with other defensive stances and you'll have players going "Wow" when nothing can touch you.

Unless you're playing random arena, why do you care about your defensive ability when you're not a priority target?
I'd say stick with strength and an offensive elite.

What if you're an Mo/W?
If you're a warrior in tombs then attack is your top priority, and not having an elite attack will hurt you. However, in random arenas (where you can't count on even having a monk) and PvE there's nothing wrong with defensive skills.

Mo/W don't have the opportunity to switch from strength to tactics.

If a team decides to focus their *physical attacks* on your warrior while all the softer targets still roam free, that team isn't performing very well.
Gladiator's Defense won't help you against a target-switch elementalist gank, the most common occurrence of warriors being targeted before the more fragile targets.
Edit: I was strictly thinking of a PvP context - in PvE a defensive ability can help. I already addressed the random arena issue in my first post.

For a warrior primary, defensive skills are pointless. For a mo/war, I'd say there are many better elites than glad's defense to protect against physical attacks. Mark of Protection comes to mind, a much better elite if you're looking for defense. Shield of Regeneration is also decent (18health per second, half damage taken).

Pretty much what 80% of the people said is what I am going to say too. Gladiators defence is hardly worth it since it works mainly against other warriors. If you were getting hexed and conditioned (Expect about atleast 75%+ of your hits to be taken), then it'll hardly be of any use. Main suggestion is to stick with strength, add 3 or 4 into tactics for using one minor skill such as watch yourself and thats as far as you should go.

I was speaking mainly from a PvE point of view. I like to solo and defensive skills are beyond useful. 75% chance to block... very nice.

That's the hamer on the head right there. Warriros are going to try and take a piece out of you. It doesn't hurt to bring sheild stance as well. Just be awear that at present not many warriros bring warriros cunning but if massive blocking became a problem then mayby they will.
Then again the other night (Tombs) our proc monk brought sheild stance. When a warrior came for him he'd pull up the sheild and hit sheild stance. The warrior woul usually give up and target something else just before it ran out.
Disciplened stance is also another brilliant one. Not only do you get armour and a chance to block but you gain energy when you do. It ends if u use adrenalin but what monk/war is going to be using that?

True. Probably better to bring the 2 non-elited I just mentioned. Then again remeber what a Natures renewal team or a enchantment striping team can do to thoese buffs. Satnces can be broken too but at present that's not something most wars bring along.

It's nice in PvE and surprisingly good in random arena. It's utter trash in organized PvP.
Have a nice day.
Peace,
